It was about <a href=\"https:\/\/doctorcarparts.com\/car-parts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">buying\u00a0lambda sensors<\/a> and why aftermarket parts can sometimes physically look different to the original but still be the correct part.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the \u00a0example they gave:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-109 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/doctorcarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/LAMBDA-1.jpeg\" alt=\"LAMBDA 1\" width=\"242\" height=\"136\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Figure A shows lambda sensor-A which corresponds to\u00a0two O.E. numbers JP-123 and JP-124. (original equipment number means the genuine\/dealer&#8217;s number). Notice the corner cut-out of the plug.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Figure B shows lambda sensor-B\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doctorcarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/LAMBDA-2-1.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-112\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-112\" src=\"https:\/\/doctorcarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/LAMBDA-2-1.jpeg\" alt=\"LAMBDA 2\" width=\"222\" height=\"131\" \/><\/a>which\u00a0\u00a0corresponds to OE number JP-125. Here the cut-out on the plug is bottom left.<\/p>\n<p>Figure C sho<a href=\"https:\/\/doctorcarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/LAMBDA-3-1.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-114\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-114 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/doctorcarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/LAMBDA-3-1.jpeg\" alt=\"LAMBDA 3\" width=\"244\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a>ws \u00a0lamba sensor-C. This is the <strong>aftermarket version<\/strong> of the two sensors above.<\/p>\n<p>This sensor can be used to replace <strong>any of the 3 OE numbers<\/strong>, namely JP-123, JP-124 and JP-125.<\/p>\n<p>This practice of designing a part to cover more applications is common with lambda\/oxygen sensors, but\u00a0the same might apply in other parts where two parts are essentially the same except for e.g. the plug.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone in the motor trade will agree that when buying car parts there&#8217;s a higher-than-average chance that you&#8217;ve got the wrong part, so it&#8217;s easy to immediately jump to this conclusion but this article is one example where it might not be so straightforward. \u00a0Good luck !<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>https:\/\/doctorcarparts.com\/car-partsToday I received an interesting email from one of my engine management part suppliers, Cambiare.
